Chest upright,

my land will rise and fight.

Fear not! declared

my children,

facing the enemy who has

arrived in strength

on our land

our skies

our rippling blue seas,

for the time has come

to vanquish the enemy

and save us.

Even the women,

whom the poets of yesteryear

metaphorised as mothers

and tender buds,

wavering vines

and blossoms,

have now risen to fight.

When will the time come

for these bards to open their eyes?

In a nation where

bravery that cannot be bought

has fought battles

and stands as statues,

you still compose

hundreds of verses

about bosoms

oh, mankind!

When will you comprehend

the meaning of honour?

Will you remain in this ignominy?

Open your eyes!

Poet! Rise.

Record these times.
